Privacy Notice

In short: your financial files stay in your browser. We receive the contact details you type in and a summary of your calculator results, and we use them to follow up with you. We do not sell your information.

1. Information we collect

  • Contact details you provide: name, email, phone, company, role, revenue range, state, and any message you send.
  • Calculator summary results: the figures the calculator computes or that you confirm, such as revenue, EBITDA and adjustments, valuation range, operating and free cash flow, working-capital days, cash, debt and return metrics, plus the qualitative answers you select.
  • Job Estimator summaries, only if you press "Send estimate to David": the job name, price, cost, margin, labor hours, wage, burden, markups, cost lines and a link that reopens the estimate.
  • Learning Center download requests, only if you ask for the full library PDF: your name, email, company (optional) and how many guides you have completed.
  • Your consent choices, including whether you opted in to marketing emails, with a timestamp.
  • Technical data: our host may log IP address, browser type and pages requested for security and operations. If you accept analytics cookies, we also collect aggregated usage data.

2. Your financial files

Files you select in the calculator (P&L, balance sheet, cash-flow statement, aging and payroll reports) are opened and read locally in your web browser. They are not uploaded to EquiScape or any third party, and they are discarded when you close or reload the page. Only the summary results described above are transmitted. If you choose to email files to us, they are handled as client correspondence.

3. How we use information

  • To respond to you and schedule consultations.
  • To review your calculator results and discuss your business with you.
  • To provide and improve our services and tools, including refining valuation assumptions in aggregate.
  • To send newsletters or offers, only if you opted in. You can unsubscribe at any time.
  • To protect the Site, prevent fraud and comply with law.

4. Who we share information with

We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share it only with:

  • Service providers that process it on our behalf: form delivery (FormSubmit or Formspree), our email and spreadsheet tools (Google Workspace), and website hosting (GitHub Pages).
  • Professional advisors and authorities when required by law or to protect our rights.
  • A successor in a merger, acquisition or sale of our business, subject to this notice.

We will not share your financial results with prospective buyers, lenders or other third parties without your written permission.

5. Retention and security

We keep lead and calculator records for up to three years after our last contact with you, or longer if you become a client and records are needed for our engagement. We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, including encrypted (HTTPS) transmission and access-controlled accounts. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

6. Your choices and rights

You may ask to access, correct or delete your information, or withdraw marketing consent, by emailing dwhittaker@equiscape.co. Depending on where you live, state privacy laws may give you additional rights. We will respond within the time the law requires and will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

7. Cookies

The Site works without cookies. The valuation calculator does not use cookies or store your financial data in your browser. The Job Estimator keeps your current estimate, and any you choose to save, in your own browser's local storage so they are there when you come back. That data stays on your device and is not sent to us unless you send an estimate; clearing your browser's site data removes it. The Learning Center keeps your course progress, checklist ticks and scorecard targets in your browser's local storage so they are there when you come back; that data stays on your device and is not sent to us. The Growth Lab tools save the numbers you type in your browser's local storage the same way; that data stays on your device and is not sent to us. If we enable website analytics, analytics cookies load only after you click "Accept" in the cookie banner, and you can decline.

8. Children

The Site is intended for business owners and professionals. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

9. Changes and contact
